It was once said that “Creativity is the breast milk of life.” What? That’s never been said before? Well now it has!

So we’re looking for you to get your creative hats on because UCT has given us a chance to make short videos to market our University to the world!

Are you interested? Read on…

The Times Higher Education magazine (the peeps who publish the University rankings every year – you know, the guys and gals who consistently name us the best Varsity in Africa) are running a competition to see who can make the best promotional video for their respective University that completes the sentence:

“My university is world-class because…”

Here’s the catch: your video cannot be more than 10 seconds long. Yes, you read correctly: 10 seconds. You may wish to focus on academics, research, sport, culture, setting, people, social life or even the pigeons. It’s completely up to you! If you have an idea and would like to take part, email production[at]filmsoc.co.za to book our equipment and get your show on the road.

If chosen to represent UCT, your video will be submitted to the wonderful people at Times Higher Education and could be chosen to represent not just UCT but the whole of Africa to a global audience of millions!
Oh, yes, and you can also win an iPad!
Because it’s only 10 seconds long, this will not take much of your time. We will provide you with all the equipment you will need to make your idea come to startling High Definition life! All submissions are due by 12h00 on Thursday 23 August 2012. Just so that the information is consolidated – see below:
