This is the first in what I hope will become a series of reports detailing some of the newest and buzziest stories from the wonderful world of television. These nuggets of information range from casting news to rumoured or confirmed plot details for upcoming episodes. I  will include information about shows I watch or things I find interesting, if there are any shows you want more news on I can happily look for and include said info next time.

 

  • Former Pushing Daisies and GCB star Kristen Chenoweth has officially backed out of what would have been a multi-episode guest starring role on CBS’s The Good Wife. This comes after she was recently injured while filming. She has chosen to step out and recover. It appears that her fellow GCB star Miriam Shor will be stepping in to continue the planned role of a dogged reporter covering the Florrick campaign.
  • Yet another SNL vet has announced their departure from the long-running sketch show. Abby Elliot joins the list of funny people exiting that already includes Kirsten Wiig and Andy Samberg. Her “Being Quirky With Zooey Deschanel” will be sorely missed.

  • Ryan Murphy, co-creator and writer of Glee, has tweeted the first photo of guest star Kate Hudson in action. You can check that out here. You can also check out the first promo for season 4 here.
  • In related news, information around Murphy’s other show American Horror Story: Asylum has surfaced. Specifically regarding Zachary Quinto’s role. He will be playing a doctor in the 1960s asylum who is, “He’s much more grounded and in control.” according to Quinto himself. 

  • The 11-time Olympic medalist, Ryan Lochte will reportedly be appearing as himself in the upcoming fifth season of 90210.
  • Lucy Loveless of Xena: Warrior Princess fame will appear in two episodes of Parks & Recreation as a love interest for Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson.

  • Things seem to be in place for a Will & Grace reunion on NBC’s hit musical Smash‘s second season. Sean Hayes has been cast in a recurring role that will likely see him cross paths with his former co-start Deborah Messing. He will play an established actor making his stage debut.
  • Mad Men star John Slattery will be joining the newly resurrected Arrested Development for a multi-episode guest starring role that is being kept under wraps. The shows fourth season is being made possible by Netflix and will consist of 10 episodes that will be released all together some time next year.
 
  • After seeking treatment for a sleep disorder John Noble has returned to filming for the fifth and fina season of the critical darling, Fringe. 
  • Sebastian Stan who played the Mad Hatter in the first season 0f ABC’s hit Once Upon a Time to rave reviews, will thankfully be returning for the second season.
  • Malcolm McDowell will be joining Matt Lucus as another new faculty member on the fourth season of  Community. He will be playingProfessor Cornwallis who will be teaching history to Greendale’s finest.
  • Game of Thrones has found it’s Mance Rayder – he will be portrayed by Ciarán Hinds. Hinds was last seen as Julius Caesar in Rome.
